S5.20 “The Wild Wild East”

Katalyst Kombucha
The cultures used to ferment the tea all descend from the same kombucha mother started in 2005.Jim drank a 5 year old can of this during the recording, at least 2 weeks ago as of this writing, and he's still alive.

Whip City
In the early 1900s, Westfield was the leading center of the buggy whip industry.
The “whip city” brand still lives on in the names of local businesses. You can still get whips from Westfield Whip.
These days, Westfield may be better known as the first stop on the east side of the 30-mile stretch over the Berkshires. This is the longest gap between exits on the entire length of I-90. It doesn't just feel that way.

Little Big
Originally from Saint Petersburg, the punk-pop-rave band Little Big is now based in Los Angeles.
They have a new video called Lobster Popstar so now they totally need to move to the northeast.
